My hard drive won't show up/work and I'm scared

I attempted to download something from my xbox onto my drive (after using it on my laptop and adding hundreds of gigs of data) and now after puttng it back into my laptop suddenly it no longer shows it in my files and i can only see it through my device manager but cant access anything on it or use it. Did i just lose my terabyte drive?
