DeepBlue IDE – An IDE for lightweight, instant coding without setup or heavy local tools

Project Name: Browser-Based IDE (ProElectricCoder IDE)

Brief Description:
A lightweight browser-based IDE designed for quick coding experiments without needing a full desktop setup. It focuses on fast iteration with live preview, project organization, and the ability to run as an installable PWA.

I built it because I wanted something faster and simpler than opening a full IDE like VS Code or WebStorm for small projects and experiments.

Tech Stack Used:
HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Browser APIs (File System Access API, Service Workers, PWA APIs)
GitHub Pages / Cloudflare Pages for deployment

Key Features / Challenges Overcome:
• Project explorer for managing files and folders • Tabbed code editor for multi-file editing • Live preview system for instant feedback • Installable PWA (works like a desktop app) • Local file access when installed • Built-in developer tools
Key challenges included working with browser file system limitations, maintaining state across tabs, and making the PWA behave consistently like a desktop app.
